We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Physiologist Chief II to join our specialized Cardiology Department at Mayo University Hospital, offering permanent full-time employment in a leading healthcare facility.
About the Role
This senior Cardiac Physiologist Chief II position offers an exciting opportunity to lead cardiac diagnostic services within our state-of-the-art Cardiology Department at Mayo University Hospital. You will provide expert cardiac physiology services, supervise junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of patient care in our specialized cardiac unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage cardiac physiology services within the Cardiology Department, ensuring optimal patient outcomes
- Perform complex cardiac diagnostic procedures including ECGs, echocardiograms, and stress testing
- Supervise and mentor junior cardiac physiologists and support staff in specialized cardiac procedures
- Develop and implement cardiac physiology protocols and quality assurance measures
- Collaborate with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams in patient care planning
- Maintain specialized cardiac equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Participate in cardiac emergency procedures and on-call services as required
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cardiac Physiology, Clinical Physiology, or related healthcare discipline
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in cardiac physiology with senior-level responsibilities
- Current registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Extensive experience in advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures and equipment operation
- Leadership experience in managing cardiac physiology teams and departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Cardiac Physiology or related field
- Experience in specialized cardiac procedures (cardiac catheterization, pacemaker clinics)
- Previous experience in university hospital or teaching hospital environment
- Quality improvement and clinical audit experience in cardiology settings
