Cardiac Physiologist Chief II – HSE – Mayo University Hospital

Mayo University Hospital, part of the HSE West and North West region, is recruiting a Cardiac Physiologist Chief II (Fiseolaí Cairdiach, Príomh-Fhiseolaí II). This is a permanent whole-time position based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo, offering an exciting leadership opportunity in cardiac diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cardiac diagnostics within Mayo University Hospital.
  • Supervise a multidisciplinary cardiac physiology team.
  • Ensure accurate testing and reporting of cardiac investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with HSE policies, clinical governance, and audit standards.
  • Contribute to training, professional development, and service enhancement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Cardiac Physiology.
  • Demonstrated depth and breadth of post-qualification experience in cardiac diagnostics.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Cardiac Physiologist – Chief II (Code: 3002)
  • Contract: Permanent Whole-time
  • Pay Scale: As per HSE consolidated salary scales effective 1 August 2025, in line with Department of Health Circular 6/2025.
  • Hours: 37 hours per week.
  • Public sector pension and standard HSE benefits apply.
