About the Role
As a Care Assistant with Atlantic Care, you will provide holistic home support to clients throughout County Sligo. The role focuses on personal care, companionship, dementia care, and palliative support, helping each client maintain dignity, independence, and comfort. You’ll work closely under the guidance of our Care Managers, ensuring each care plan is delivered with empathy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and hygiene support in line with each client’s care plan.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to clients and families.
- Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and daily living activities.
- Support clients with dementia care, palliative care, and end-of-life comfort.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with supervisors.
- Promote independence, dignity, and respect for all clients.
- Follow all company policies and Health & Safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- QQI Level 5 modules in Care Skills and Care of the Older Person (or working toward completion).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
- Access to own transport and full driving licence.
Preferred
- Previous experience in home care or dementia care settings.
- Additional QQI healthcare modules.
- A caring, empathetic personality with strong initiative.
