The HSE Mid West is inviting applications for the permanent Clinical Midwife Manager 2 position at University Maternity Hospital Limerick. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced midwife leader to contribute to high-quality, evidence-based maternity care within a supportive clinical environment.
About the Role
The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 (CMM2) plays a pivotal leadership role in the delivery of safe, woman-centred maternity services. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Midwifery, the CMM2 ensures effective resource management, professional supervision, and continuous service improvement within the clinical area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and professional leadership to midwifery teams.
- Support implementation of HSE and hospital maternity care standards.
- Ensure safe staffing levels and effective use of resources.
- Lead on quality improvement, audits, and risk management.
- Promote a culture of continuous professional development.
- Act as a key liaison between multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
- Support education, mentorship, and performance development of staff.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration experience, including 2 years in a maternity setting.
- Proven ability in clinical leadership, communication, and team coordination.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in leadership, management, or midwifery.
- Experience in service development or quality improvement initiatives.
What We Offer
- Salary (as of 1 August 2025): €61,463–€77,666 per annum (11 points, including LSI).
- Contract: Permanent, whole-time.
