Clinical Midwife Manager 3 – Cavan | HSE

The Health Service Executive (HSE) Dublin and North East is seeking an experienced Clinical Midwife Manager 3 to join our dedicated healthcare team in Cavan. About the Role

This Clinical Midwife Manager 3 position represents a senior leadership opportunity within HSE’s nursing and midwifery services. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality maternity care while leading and managing clinical midwifery teams across our Cavan healthcare facilities. This Grade 2133 position reports to the Director of Midwifery and requires both clinical expertise and strong management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage clinical midwifery teams to deliver exceptional maternity and women’s health services
• Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and procedures for midwifery practice
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards, policies, and regulatory requirements across all midwifery services
• Mentor and support junior midwifery staff through clinical supervision and professional development programs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care outcomes and service delivery
• Monitor and evaluate clinical performance indicators, implementing quality improvement initiatives as required
• Manage budgets, resources, and staffing schedules to maintain efficient department operations

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) as a Registered Midwife
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in midwifery practice with demonstrated clinical leadership
• Previous experience in a Clinical Midwife Manager 2 role or equivalent management position
• Bachelor’s degree in Midwifery or related healthcare discipline

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Midwifery, Nursing, Healthcare Management, or related field
• Additional qualifications in clinical leadership, quality improvement, or healthcare management
• Experience working within HSE or Irish public healthcare system
• Specialized training in high-risk pregnancy management or neonatal care
