The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a Clinical Midwife Specialist (Ultrasound) to join Cork University Maternity Hospital, part of the HSE South West region. This is a permanent, whole-time position open to both internal and external applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and interpret diagnostic ultrasound imaging in a maternity setting.
- Provide expert clinical advice and continuity of care to expectant mothers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure best maternal outcomes.
- Contribute to training and development of midwifery staff in ultrasound practice.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Midwife (NMBI) with a postgraduate qualification in ultrasound.
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 in the relevant specialty.
- Proven clinical leadership and advanced decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Clinical Midwife Specialist (Code 2313).
- Annual Salary (as of 1 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 per annum (11 points with LSI).
- Employment Type: Permanent, Wholetime.
