The Health Service Executive (HSE) South West is recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 to lead the High Dependency Unit at Bantry General Hospital. This is a permanent whole-time post based in Bantry, County Cork, offering excellent career progression within the public healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day nursing operations in the High Dependency Unit.
- Supervise and support nursing staff to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Coordinate clinical activities with multidisciplinary teams.
- Contribute to service improvement, audits, and compliance with HSE quality standards.
- Support staff education, mentorship, and professional development.
- Ensure adherence to infection-control and health-and-safety policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with NMBI registration in good standing.
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 in an acute hospital setting.
- Demonstrated management or supervisory experience desirable.
- Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and decision-making ability.
- Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient-safety.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade Code 2127).
- Annual Salary Scale (Effective 1 August 2025): €56,642 – €66,705 per annum (8-point scale, LSI after 3 years on max) .
- Hours: 39 hours per week (full-time).
- Contract: Permanent Wholetime.
