Join the Health Service Executive (HSE) at Cork University Hospital (CUH) as a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) in the Infusion Unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated nurse to lead and coordinate care delivery in a busy acute hospital setting within the South West Health Region.
About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1, you’ll oversee the nursing team in the Infusion Unit, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for all patients. Working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, you will contribute to service quality, staff development, and adherence to HSE clinical governance standards.
This is a permanent, whole-time position based at Wilton, Cork (CUH). The role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff within the Infusion Unit.
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure adherence to infection prevention and control standards.
- Supervise and support staff in clinical decision-making and patient safety initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and best practice guidelines.
- Manage rosters, annual leave, and staff performance in line with HSE HR policies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
- Promote continuous professional development and learning within the team.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RNID, RGN, or equivalent) on the NMBI Active Register.
- Minimum of three years’ post-registration experience, including relevant clinical exposure in acute or infusion care.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a nursing team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Leadership, Management, or Clinical Practice.
- Experience within infusion therapy or outpatient treatment settings.

- Salary: €56,642–€66,705 per annum (as per HSE Consolidated Pay Scales, 1 August 2025, Grade Code 2127).
