The HSE Mid West Community Healthcare is inviting applications for the position of Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) within the Older Persons Residential Services across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary. This is a permanent, whole-time opportunity open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
About the Role
The CNM1 will support the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care within Older Persons Residential Services. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership, manage nursing teams, and ensure compliance with HIQA standards and HSE policies to maintain excellence in gerontological nursing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily nursing care within assigned residential units.
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and HIQA standards.
- Support staff development through supervision, mentorship, and education.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality outcomes for residents.
- Contribute to audits, care planning, and continuous service improvement.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and safety within all aspects of resident care.
- Manage staffing resources effectively to meet operational needs.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registration in the General Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of three years post-registration experience, with at least one year in a care of the older person or related clinical setting.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Gerontological Nursing, Leadership, or Management.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or CNM1 role within HSE or similar healthcare setting.
