Croom Orthopaedic Hospital, part of the HSE Mid West, is inviting applications for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1) to join its dedicated orthopaedic care team. This permanent, wholetime position offers a progressive career path in a specialist acute hospital setting.
About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager 1, you will provide professional and clinical leadership to support high-quality orthopaedic nursing care at Croom Orthopaedic Hospital. You’ll coordinate ward activities, supervise nursing staff, and promote best practice in patient safety and care standards within the orthopaedic department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day ward operations within the orthopaedic unit.
- Support, mentor, and appraise nursing staff to maintain professional excellence.
- Ensure adherence to HSE Mid West quality and patient-safety standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise care pathways.
- Participate in audit, risk management, and service improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to policy development and implementation across the department.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (NMBI).
- At least 3 years post-registration experience.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience within an acute hospital setting.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Preferred
- Experience in orthopaedic or surgical nursing.
- Postgraduate qualification in management, orthopaedics, or related field.
