HSE South West is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to lead our Community Infection Prevention and Control services in Cork. About the Role
Join our dynamic Infection Prevention and Control team as Clinical Nurse Manager 2, where you’ll provide clinical leadership and expertise in preventing healthcare-associated infections across community healthcare settings. This role combines clinical management responsibilities with specialized infection control knowledge to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage infection prevention and control programs across community healthcare settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based infection control policies and procedures
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staff in infection prevention practices
- Conduct infection control risk assessments and surveillance activities
- Deliver education and training programs on infection prevention and control protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to investigate and manage infection outbreaks
- Ensure compliance with national infection prevention and control standards and guidelines
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Registration with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland)
- Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience
- Specialist qualification or significant experience in Infection Prevention and Control
- Clinical management or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of infection control principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced qualification in Infection Prevention and Control
- Experience in community healthcare settings
- Leadership or management qualifications
- Previous experience in clinical nurse management roles
- Knowledge of national infection control guidelines and standards
