About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager 3 – Bed Manager, you will oversee the coordination of inpatient and emergency admissions, ensuring safe, efficient bed allocation across departments. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing patient flow and supporting effective hospital capacity management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate bed management and patient flow processes across CUH.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize hospital capacity.
- Monitor daily occupancy, admissions, and discharges to maintain service efficiency.
- Implement HSE standards, policies, and protocols in bed management.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to CNM and staff nurse teams.
- Support data reporting, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
- Act as the senior nursing representative on operational committees as required.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration experience, including 2 years at CNM2 level or equivalent.
- Proven experience in clinical leadership and resource management.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management or related discipline.
- Experience in acute hospital bed management or patient flow coordination.
