About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Manager 3 will oversee nursing management within the Surgical Hub at Cork University Hospital, Wilton, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, safety, and staff development. This is a permanent, whole-time position open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for surgical nursing teams.
- Ensure evidence-based best practices and compliance with HSE standards.
- Oversee resource allocation, staffing, and performance management.
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Facilitate staff training, mentorship, and professional development.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.
- Contribute to service planning and change management across the Surgical Hub.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse with the NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-registration experience, including relevant senior nursing experience.
- Proven leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and clinical governance awareness.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in management or relevant clinical specialty.
- Experience in acute hospital or surgical service environments.

- Salary (as of 1 August 2025): €70,725–€79,872 per annum (HSE Consolidated Salary Scales, Grade 233X).
