Clinical Nurse Manager II – Paediatrics (Sligo University Hospital, Co. Sligo)

We are recruiting a Clinical Nurse Manager II to lead and develop paediatric nursing services at Sligo University Hospital. This specified-purpose, whole-time role (HSE Grade 2119) based in County Sligo is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants. Reporting to the ADON Children’s Services, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care, co‑ordinating the paediatric nursing team, and implementing service improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight across paediatric services.
• Coordinate and support the nursing team to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Implement policies, protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery.
• Contribute to staff training, mentorship, and performance appraisal.

Requirements

• Registered General Nurse with valid PIN.
• Minimum of 3 years’ post-registration experience, including paediatric nursing.
• Demonstrable leadership and team management experience.
• Knowledge of HSE standards, ethics, and healthcare regulations.
• Strong communication, organisational and professional development skills.
