Job Overview
As a Candidate Clinical Nurse Specialist in Neurology, you will develop advanced clinical skills and knowledge in the management of patients with neurological conditions. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care, implement best practices, and provide leadership in your specialist area. This role is designed to support your professional development towards full CNS status while improving neurology services within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist nursing care in the management of acute neurology and long-term neurological conditions.
- Support the development and implementation of evidence-based care pathways for neurology patients.
- Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Act as a resource and educator for staff, patients, and families on neurological conditions and treatments.
- Contribute to audit, research, and service development within neurology care.
- Provide leadership in clinical governance and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives with the NMBI.
- Demonstrate depth and breadth of post-registration experience in acute medicine or neurology.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and education relevant to the specialty.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or formal training in Neurology, Acute Medicine, or related fields.
- Previous experience in a specialist or leadership nursing role.
- Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
