HSE Dublin and North East is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability, Wound Management and Lymphoedema for our Meath community services. Job Overview
As Clinical Nurse Specialist, you’ll provide expert clinical leadership in tissue viability, wound management and lymphoedema care within our community/primary care setting. You’ll deliver evidence-based specialist interventions while supporting clinical teams across Meath. This role requires travel across the county to deliver comprehensive specialist care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical assessment and management of complex wounds and lymphoedema cases
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment protocols and care pathways
- Provide clinical education and mentorship to nursing staff and healthcare teams
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Conduct specialist clinics and home visits across the Meath catchment area
- Maintain clinical governance standards and participate in audit activities
- Support service development and quality improvement initiatives
Essential Qualifications
Required:
- Degree in Nursing with current NMBI registration
- Certification in Lymphoedema management including Manual Lymphatic Drainage from recognized school
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience in community/primary care
- Access to appropriate transport for county-wide travel
- Excellent communication and clinical leadership skills
Preferred:
- Nurse & Midwife Medicinal Product Prescribing programme completion
- Experience in tissue viability or wound management specialist role
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant specialty area
- Previous experience in community healthcare delivery
