About the Role

As Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, you’ll spearhead the development and management of pediatric inpatient and outpatient physiotherapy services with specialized responsibility for Paediatric Orthopaedic Triage. You’ll work collaboratively within our physiotherapy team and integrate seamlessly with pediatric services and consultant-led multidisciplinary teams. This position reports to the Physiotherapy Manager and offers significant clinical leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead pediatric physiotherapy services across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring evidence-based treatment protocols
  • Manage Paediatric Orthopaedic Triage services to optimize patient pathways and reduce waiting times
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including pediatricians, orthopedic consultants, and nursing staff
  • Develop clinical protocols and treatment pathways specific to pediatric physiotherapy interventions
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior physiotherapy staff and students
  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, HIQA requirements, and professional ISCP guidelines
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to service development planning

Essential Qualifications

Education: BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution
Experience: Minimum 5 years post-qualification + 3 years specialized pediatric experience
Registration: Current CORU registration as a Physiotherapist
Specialization: Demonstrated expertise in pediatric physiotherapy and orthopedic assessment
Skills: Advanced clinical assessment, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Certification: Postgraduate qualification in pediatric physiotherapy or orthopedics
Leadership Experience: Previous experience in clinical specialist or supervisory roles
Technology Skills: Proficiency with electronic health records and assessment tools
Professional Development: Active engagement in continuing professional development programs
