About the Role
This Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist position focuses on the Virtual Fracture Clinic (vFAC), an innovative service delivery model that enhances patient care through advanced technology and specialized physiotherapy expertise. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality assessment, treatment, and management of fracture patients using virtual consultation platforms and evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized physiotherapy assessment and treatment for fracture patients through virtual consultation platforms and in-person clinics
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with various fracture types and complications
- Conduct virtual consultations using advanced technology platforms to assess patient progress and modify treatment protocols
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the vFAC service
- Lead clinical decision-making for complex fracture cases requiring specialized physiotherapy intervention
- Mentor and supervise junior physiotherapy staff and students within the Virtual Fracture Clinic setting
- Participate in service development and quality improvement initiatives specific to virtual fracture care delivery
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution
- Registration with CORU (Health and Social Care Professionals Council)
- Minimum 5+ years post-qualification experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- Specialized experience in fracture management and orthopedic rehabilitation
- Competency in virtual consultation platforms and digital health technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in musculoskeletal physiotherapy or related specialty
- Experience in virtual or telehealth service delivery
- Advanced training in fracture rehabilitation protocols
- Leadership and mentoring experience in clinical physiotherapy settings
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
