About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Radiographer to join our CT Imaging Department at Wexford General Hospital. This specialized role involves performing advanced computed tomography procedures, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the continuous improvement of imaging services within our busy diagnostic department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced CT imaging procedures including contrast studies, cardiac CT, and specialized diagnostic examinations
- Lead clinical protocols for complex CT procedures and ensure optimal image quality and patient safety
- Mentor and supervise junior radiographers and student radiographers within the CT imaging department
- Collaborate with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize diagnostic imaging outcomes
- Maintain equipment protocols and quality assurance procedures for CT imaging systems
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and departmental training programs
- Ensure compliance with radiation protection standards and departmental policies specific to CT imaging
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Radiography or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiography with substantial CT imaging experience
- Current CORU registration as a Radiographer in Ireland
- Advanced CT imaging certification or willingness to complete specialized CT training
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in Medical Imaging or related field
- Experience in cardiac CT and advanced CT imaging techniques
- Previous clinical specialist or senior radiographer experience
- Training and mentorship experience with junior staff and students
- Quality improvement and audit experience in radiology departments
