About the Role
This Community Facilitator Intellectual Disability Roscommon position offers a permanent part-time opportunity (42 hours per fortnight) working with Brothers of Charity Services Ireland. As a Community Facilitator specializing in intellectual disability services, you’ll play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities within the local Roscommon community.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate community integration programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Develop and implement person-centered support plans
- Coordinate with families, healthcare professionals, and community services
- Provide direct support and advocacy for service users
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care delivery
- Support individuals in developing independent living skills
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in social care, disability studies, or related field
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of person-centered planning approaches
- Understanding of disability rights and advocacy principles
- Valid driver’s license and access to transport
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in community-based disability services
- Training in positive behavior support
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
- Experience with documentation and care planning systems
