Carlow, Kilkenny, South Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford Mental Health Services are inviting applications for the position of Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. This specified purpose, whole-time opportunity offers an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist the chance to provide specialist clinical leadership within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting children, adolescents and their families across the HSE Dublin and South East region.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will deliver consultant-led psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment within multidisciplinary CAMHS teams. The role includes providing expert clinical care, contributing to service development, supporting governance and quality improvement, and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals across the regional mental health service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and adolescents.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary CAMHS teams across the service area.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based clinical care.
- Contribute to service planning, clinical governance and continuous quality improvement.
- Support education, training and supervision of medical and multidisciplinary staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with HSE policies and professional standards.
Requirements
- Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Access to transport is essential.

Salary
