About the Role
The HSE Mid West is inviting applications for the position of Consultant Dermatologist based at University Hospital Limerick (UHL). This is a permanent wholetime appointment within the Dermatology Department, serving a catchment population across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary.
This role offers the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary consultant team committed to delivering specialist dermatology services within one of Ireland’s leading regional hospitals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions across inpatient, outpatient, and day services.
- Lead and develop clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives in dermatology care.
- Contribute to teaching, training, and supervision of NCHDs and medical students.
- Participate in the Dermatology on-call rota and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the HSE Mid West network to ensure integrated patient care.
- Engage in service development, audit, and research within the specialty.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registration on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Dermatology.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital-based dermatology practice.
- Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience in clinical leadership, quality improvement, or academic dermatology.
- Research publications or postgraduate teaching experience.
