About the Role

As a Customer Assistant at our Sligo Cranmore Road store, you’ll be at the heart of our customer experience, working across various departments and shift patterns to ensure our store operates efficiently. This full-time entry-level position offers €450+ per week on a standard 30-hour contract, perfect for those seeking stable employment with growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with queries, product location, and checkout processes across all store areas
  • Maintain product availability through efficient stock replenishment, ensuring shelves are fully stocked with our award-winning products
  • Operate point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently, processing transactions while maintaining minimal till queues during peak periods
  • Ensure store presentation standards by keeping all areas clean, well-organized, and meeting Lidl’s high visual merchandising requirements
  • Support bakery operations by preparing fresh bakery products for daily sale, maintaining quality and food safety standards
  • Manage waste and stock rotation following company procedures to minimize loss and ensure product freshness
  • Assist with stock counts and inventory management processes to maintain accurate stock levels

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years (required for alcohol sales as per licensing regulations)
  • Strong customer service mindset with genuine enthusiasm for helping people
  • Reliability and punctuality with ability to work various shift patterns including early mornings and weekends
  • Physical capability to work in a fast-paced retail environment including standing for extended periods and lifting products
  • Team collaboration skills with willingness to support colleagues across different store departments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous retail or customer-facing experience (full training provided for motivated candidates)
  • Flexibility to work across morning, middle, and late shift patterns
  • Cash handling experience or numeracy confidence
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
