Digital Health Assistant Director of Nursing – Dublin | HSE

The Health Service Executive (HSE) is Ireland’s national health service, dedicated to improving health and wellbeing across the country. We are seeking an experienced Digital Health Assistant Director of Nursing to join our Dublin and North East Region team and lead transformative healthcare technology initiatives.

About the Role

This Assistant Director of Nursing position focuses on digital health transformation within Ireland’s largest healthcare system. You will drive the implementation of clinical information systems and healthcare technology solutions across the Dublin North East Region, working with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care through innovative digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead digital health transformation projects across Dublin North East healthcare facilities
• Implement and oversee clinical information systems and healthcare applications
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless technology adoption and training
• Develop and maintain digital health strategies aligned with HSE objectives
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data protection and clinical governance standards
• Provide leadership in nursing informatics and digital transformation initiatives

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

• Valid registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
• Postgraduate qualification in health informatics, nursing leadership, or digital health transformation
• Significant experience in senior nursing management or healthcare leadership roles
• Experience/knowledge of implementing clinical information systems or healthcare applications
• Experience in national or regional healthcare digital transformation projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent
• Masters degree in nursing, health informatics, or related field
• Experience working within Irish healthcare system or HSE
• Knowledge of healthcare data governance and clinical safety standards
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
