Join Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) as a Director of Public Health Nursing, Assistant (ADPHN) within the Dublin and Midlands Health Region. This permanent, whole-time leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to support and manage the delivery of public health nursing services across multiple counties.
About the Role
As a Director of Public Health Nursing, Assistant, you will contribute to the strategic planning and operational management of public health nursing within Community Healthcare Networks (CHNs). You will ensure effective clinical governance, quality care delivery, and the implementation of HSE health policies in line with national and regional strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage nursing teams across community healthcare settings.
- Contribute to public health strategy, planning, and service delivery.
- Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
- Support staff development, supervision, and performance management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and interagency teams for community health initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety frameworks.
- Report on service outcomes and contribute to regional performance targets.
Required Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RPHN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Relevant management or leadership experience in community or public health nursing.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex caseloads.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification in Public Health Nursing, Leadership, or Health Management.
- Experience in health service reform or integrated care programmes.

- Salary Scale (effective 1 August 2025): €70,730 – €81,204 per annum (HSE Consolidated Pay Scales, Grade Code 281X).
