Job Overview

The Electrician will support the maintenance, repair, testing, and installation of electrical systems and infrastructure throughout University Hospital Limerick and associated Acute Services facilities. The role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable hospital operations across clinical and non-clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, inspection, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across hospital facilities.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with safety regulations, standards, and hospital operational requirements.
  • Respond promptly to electrical faults, emergencies, and maintenance requests.
  • Support preventative maintenance programmes to minimise service disruption.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance teams, contractors, and hospital departments.
  • Assist with upgrades and improvement projects across Acute Services sites.
  • Travel to other HSE Mid West Acute Services locations as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical trade qualification.
  • Relevant experience working as an Electrician in commercial, industrial, or healthcare environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full driving licence may be required due to travel between Acute Services sites.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise maintenance tasks effectively.
  • Experience within healthcare or large-scale facilities management environments is advantageous.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
