Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, in partnership with the HSE, is seeking an experienced Enhanced Staff Nurse for our disability services team in Gort, County Galway. Key Responsibilities
As an Enhanced Staff Nurse in our disability services, you will:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within our person-centred model of care
- Provide holistic, individualised care that promotes optimum independence and enhances quality of life for service users
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive disability support services
- Maintain accurate documentation and care records in compliance with HSE standards and Irish healthcare regulations
- Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to service user assessments
- Support the implementation of ICT systems, including those supporting the Safe Nurse Staffing Framework
- Mentor and guide junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice development
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to disability services in Ireland
Requirements & Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Current registration on the General Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum 6 months experience as a Registered General Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in disability services, intellectual disability nursing, or related healthcare fields
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to person-centred care principles
- Knowledge of Irish healthcare standards and disability services frameworks
Desirable Qualifications:
- Post-registration qualification in intellectual disability nursing or related field
- Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, or complex needs
- Knowledge of HSE policies and procedures
- CPD certification in relevant areas of disability care
Work Authorization: Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland and maintain valid NMBI registration throughout employment.
