The Health Service Executive is recruiting a Candidate Advanced Nurse Practitioner (cANP) in Tissue Viability – Lower Limb Vascular for Public Health Nursing Services across Mayo, Galway, and Roscommon. This is a pivotal opportunity to advance clinical practice in community care while working with multidisciplinary teams.
Table of Contents
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver advanced assessment, diagnosis, and management of lower limb vascular and tissue viability conditions
• Provide expert guidance on wound care, vascular risk reduction, and evidence-based interventions
• Lead community-based care pathways and support seamless service integration
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and research activities
• Educate staff, patients, and families on prevention, management, and escalation processes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and public health nursing teams across the region
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered Nurse with active NMBI registration
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of community nursing experience in Tissue Viability – Lower Limb Vascular
• Completed, or willingness to undertake, the Nurse Prescribing of Medicinal Products Certificate within agreed timeframe
• Strong clinical decision-making, assessment, and caseload-management skills
• Excellent communication, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary (Candidate ANP – General, Code 2272): €70,725–€79,872 (effective 1 August 2025)
• Contract type: Permanent whole-time and specified purpose whole-time opportunities
• Hours: Full-time
