This is a senior nursing leadership opportunity within the Dublin North East Surgical Hub, offering the chance to influence patient care delivery at a strategic level. As Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), you will support clinical governance, lead nursing teams, and drive high standards of care in a dynamic acute hospital environment. This role is ideal for an experienced nurse leader seeking career progression within a major healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management support to nursing and clinical teams
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care in line with national standards
- Support the Director of Nursing in operational and strategic planning
- Promote clinical excellence, safety, and continuous quality improvement
- Lead staff development, mentoring, and performance management initiatives
- Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and HSE policies
- Coordinate service delivery across departments within the surgical hub
- Participate in rotation to Connolly Hospital as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Significant post-registration clinical experience in an acute hospital setting
- Proven leadership and management experience at senior nursing level
- Strong knowledge of healthcare governance, quality, and safety standards
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Relevant management or leadership qualification (desirable)
- Access to appropriate transport to fulfil the requirements of the role
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €72,122 – €89,004 per annum (in line with HSE pay scales)
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
