Job Overview
As a Catering Assistant within Older Persons Residential Services in Limerick, you will support the preparation, service and delivery of meals in line with hygiene, safety and nutritional standards. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive a professional, compassionate and efficient catering service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and service of meals and beverages.
- Ensure all food is handled, stored and served in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and dining areas.
- Support stock control, rotation and safe storage of food supplies.
- Operate catering equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with special dietary requirements as directed.
- Work collaboratively with catering and healthcare teams to meet residents’ needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality or healthcare setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP principles.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work rostered hours as required.
