Job Overview
The Chief II Pharmacist will play a key leadership role within Cancer Services at University Hospital Limerick (UHL). The successful candidate will provide expert clinical guidance, oversee pharmacy service delivery within the specialist area, and support governance, quality improvement, and service innovation.
This campaign will be used to fill one specified purpose whole-time vacancy only. No panel will be formed following this recruitment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and clinical oversight within Cancer Services pharmacy operations
- Lead and manage pharmacy staff within the specialist service area
- Ensure safe, effective and evidence-based medication management practices
- Support service development initiatives and quality improvement programmes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with national policies, governance standards and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to workforce planning, training and professional development
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registration as a Pharmacist with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
- Significant post-registration hospital pharmacy experience
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience at senior level
- Extensive knowledge of oncology pharmacy practice and cancer services (desirable)
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead service improvement initiatives
- Commitment to clinical governance and patient safety standards
