The Health Service Executive (HSE) is seeking a visionary Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to lead the medical governance and clinical transformation of Ireland’s National Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Based in Dublin North, this is a permanent, whole-time senior consultant-level role driving digital health strategy at national scale.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior clinical leadership for the National EHR Programme.
• Shape and govern digital health strategy to improve patient outcomes and care pathways.
• Lead and influence large-scale technology-enabled change across multiple care settings.
• Ensure clinical safety, quality, and usability in all EHR design and deployment decisions.
• Collaborate with hospital groups, community services, national clinical programs, and ICT partners.
• Represent clinical interests at executive level and drive adoption of digital solutions.
• Oversee change-management impacts on clinical workflows and patient care processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registered medical practitioner at Consultant level (Consultant Unclassified 101T).
• Significant experience in medical informatics, digital health, or clinical ICT leadership.
• Proven record of shaping or delivering major national or organisational technology programmes.
• Expertise in clinical governance, patient safety, and technology-enabled service transformation.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence national stakeholders.
• Strong strategic, analytical, and communication skills.
• Access to appropriate transport to fulfil role requirements.
