The National Forensic Mental Health Service is seeking expressions of interest for a permanent, whole-time Clerical Officer role. This is a confined competition open exclusively to existing HSE Clerical Officers seeking a grade-to-grade appointment within a specialist mental health setting.
The role provides vital administrative support to finance and operational teams, contributing to the effective delivery of forensic mental health services.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative support to assigned departments
• Maintain accurate records, files, and databases in line with HSE policies
• Process correspondence, reports, and routine documentation
• Support finance and administrative workflows as required
• Liaise professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Ensure confidentiality and data protection standards are maintained
• Assist with scheduling, meetings, and general office administration
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Permanent appointment as a Clerical Officer within the HSE (essential)
• Eligibility for grade-to-grade transfer under confined competition rules
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and office systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work accurately in a confidential healthcare environment
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Salary: In line with HSE Clerical Officer (Grade 0609) consolidated salary scale
• Contract Type: Permanent, whole-time
