Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to join University Hospital Limerick as a Senior Clinical Engineering Technician, playing a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment across acute services. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality patient care by supporting, maintaining, and managing complex clinical technologies. This role is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support for medical equipment across clinical departments
- Perform maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide range of clinical devices
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the evaluation, procurement, and commissioning of new equipment
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Support risk management and incident investigation related to equipment
- Collaborate with clinical staff to optimise equipment usage and performance
- Supervise and mentor junior technical staff where required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in Clinical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
- Significant experience in a clinical engineering or healthcare technology environment
- Strong technical knowledge of medical equipment systems and diagnostics
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and safety standards is desirable
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €51,792 – €74,019 per annum (including Long Service Increments)
Working Hours: Full-time, standard HSE working hours
