Job Overview
The Clinical Manager 2 Emergency Department Kerry role at University Hospital Kerry offers an exciting leadership opportunity within a busy Emergency Department and Acute Floor setting. This permanent wholetime position plays a key role in ensuring high standards of patient care, clinical governance, and effective team management.
The successful candidate will provide professional and clinical leadership, supporting patient flow and emergency services while maintaining excellence in nursing practice across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational management within the Emergency Department and Acute Floor.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centred nursing care.
- Support effective patient flow and coordination of emergency services.
- Supervise, mentor and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures and national standards.
- Participate in workforce planning, rostering and performance management.
- Contribute to service development and continuous improvement projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum experience as required for Clinical Nurse Manager 2 grade.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Experience within Emergency Department or Acute Floor services is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to clinical excellence, governance and patient safety.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.

- Salary aligned with HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 2 pay scale (Grade 2119) in accordance with February 2026 consolidated pay scales.
