The Clinical Midwife Manager 2 Emergency Department and Acute Floor role at University Hospital Kerry is a senior nursing leadership opportunity within HSE South West. This permanent wholetime post plays a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care while leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced acute hospital environment.
This is an internal competition open only to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in line with WRC Agreement 161867.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and professional leadership within the Emergency Department and Acute Floor.
- Ensure high standards of patient-centred care and clinical governance.
- Support service planning, patient flow management, and operational efficiency.
- Lead, supervise, and develop nursing and midwifery staff.
- Promote quality improvement initiatives and compliance with national standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by NMBI.
- Minimum experience requirements as outlined in the official Job Specification.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in an acute hospital setting.
- Strong clinical knowledge relevant to emergency and acute care services.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and team leadership skills.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary is aligned with the Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade Code 2119) pay scale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025 :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
Salary Scale (01 August 2025): €61,463 – €77,666 (LSI)
