Galway University Hospitals is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Manager 1 to lead and support Cardio–Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training services. This permanent whole-time opportunity offers experienced nursing professionals the chance to influence clinical standards, training delivery, and service development across a major acute hospital setting.

This Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Galway GUH role plays a vital part in ensuring excellence in resuscitation training, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Cardio–Pulmonary Resuscitation training programmes across Galway University Hospitals.
  • Support clinical practice improvement initiatives related to resuscitation and emergency response.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and contribute to service development planning.
  • Ensure compliance with national clinical standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting systems related to CPR training activity.
  • Participate in audit, quality assurance, and continuous professional development activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Be registered as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Demonstrate significant post-registration nursing experience.
  • Show depth and breadth of experience in clinical practice.
  • Have proven experience in training delivery and training needs analysis.
  • Demonstrate involvement in service development initiatives.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary is aligned to the Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (General) Grade Code 2127 payscale under the Department of Health Consolidated Salary Scales effective 1 August 2025 .

Current annual salary scale:
€56,642 – €66,705 (LSI applicable)

Location & Employer Information

This role is based at Galway University Hospitals, incorporating University Hospital Galway and Merlin Park University Hospital, serving the HSE West and North West region (Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, and Galway).

A panel may be formed from this campaign for current and future permanent or specified purpose vacancies (full-time or part-time).

The successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as service needs arise.
