Job Overview
The HSE is seeking applications for the position of Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Intellectual Disability Sligo within Disability Services Sligo/Leitrim. This opportunity is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and offers permanent and specified purpose contracts on a full-time or part-time basis.
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with intellectual disabilities across residential and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and professional guidance to nursing and care staff within Intellectual Disability services.
- Ensure safe, effective, and person-centred care delivery in line with HSE policies and best practice standards.
- Supervise, support, and develop nursing teams to maintain high standards of clinical care.
- Participate in care planning, risk management, and safeguarding processes.
- Monitor and evaluate service quality, ensuring compliance with HIQA and relevant regulatory standards.
- Contribute to service development initiatives within Disability Services Sligo/Leitrim.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered as a Nurse on the Intellectual Disability division of the NMBI register.
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of experience in Intellectual Disability Nursing relevant to the role.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity is desirable.
- Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory requirements in disability services.
- Eligibility to work in Ireland.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary aligned with the HSE Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (Grade Code 2127) consolidated pay scale: €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), effective 1 February 2026.

Location & Employer Information
This role is based within Disability Services Sligo/Leitrim, HSE West and North West, primarily serving communities across County Sligo and County Leitrim.
The post forms part of a recruitment campaign for which a supplementary panel may be created to fill current and future vacancies of permanent or specified purpose duration.
