Job Overview
The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 Waterford position offers an excellent opportunity to take on a leadership role within the Medical Directorate at University Hospital Waterford. This permanent wholetime post is part of the HSE Dublin and South East region and is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants.
As a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 (CNM1), you will play a key role in supporting high standards of patient care, leading nursing teams, and ensuring clinical excellence within a dynamic acute hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership to nursing and support staff.
- Ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred care delivery within the Medical Directorate.
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff in daily clinical practice.
- Promote adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Participate in workforce planning, rostering, and performance management.
- Contribute to audit, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support multidisciplinary collaboration to optimise patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register.
- Minimum experience as required for Clinical Nurse Manager 1 grade (Grade Code 2127).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
- Strong clinical decision-making and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
- Salary Scale (from 1 February 2026): €57,208 – €67,372 per annum (8-point scale).
