Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nursing professional to take on a leadership role as a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 within Public Health services in the HSE West and North-West region. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality health protection services, supporting public health initiatives, and leading nursing teams in a dynamic and impactful environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and management within Public Health and Health Protection services
- Coordinate and oversee nursing activities to ensure high standards of patient care and public health delivery
- Support the implementation of national and regional public health policies and programmes
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement, and risk management initiatives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across the health service
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI register
- Significant post-registration nursing experience, including management experience
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of public health principles and health protection practices
- Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary Scale: €62,078 – €78,443 (incremental scale, including LSI)
Working Hours: Permanent Wholetime position

Location & Employer Information
This role is based in the Public Health West and North-West Region, covering counties Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, and West Cavan. The successful candidate will be primarily based at 3rd Floor Bridgewater House, Rockwood Parade, Sligo, F91 Y9YY.
