Job Overview

The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Renal Ward UHL position offers an exciting leadership opportunity within the Renal Ward at University Hospital Limerick. As a key member of the nursing management team, you will oversee daily operations, ensure best practice standards, and contribute to service development within HSE Mid West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and professional leadership within the Renal Ward.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care delivery.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing and healthcare staff.
  • Manage rostering, staffing levels, and resource allocation.
  • Promote adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and audit activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
  • Support service planning and continuous professional development within the ward.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse on the active register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, with relevant renal or acute hospital experience.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience at CNM1 level or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and risk management.

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (Grade Code 2119).
  • Salary Scale (effective 1 February 2026): €62,078 – €78,443 (LSI applicable) in line with HSE Consolidated Salary Scales.
  • Permanent Wholetime contract.
