Job Overview

Children’s Health Ireland is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Dietitian or Nutritionist to join the Special Feed Unit (SFU). This is a specialist-level opportunity to play a critical role in delivering advanced nutritional care to paediatric patients. The successful candidate will contribute to service development while supporting complex clinical cases within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention for patients requiring complex nutritional support
  • Lead and support clinical decision-making within the Special Feed Unit
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated patient care
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nutritional care plans
  • Participate in service development, quality improvement, and audit initiatives
  • Provide education and training to healthcare staff and families
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification in Dietetics or Nutrition
  • Registration with CORU (or eligibility for registration)
  • Significant post-qualification clinical experience, including specialist experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in paediatric nutrition or complex feeding needs
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills
  • Ability to lead clinical initiatives and support service improvement
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

Salary scale: €71,405 – €82,860 per annum (pro rata), depending on experience.

This is a specified purpose part-time contract. Benefits include access to public sector pension schemes, structured annual leave, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
