Job Overview

The Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist Paediatrics HSE role offers an exciting opportunity to join the PEACEPLUS Healthier Futures Project within National Services and Schemes. This position focuses on delivering specialist physiotherapy services as part of a multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people in weight management services.

This is a specified purpose contract (30 months) with whole-time and part-time options available across multiple counties. The successful candidate will provide expert paediatric physiotherapy leadership while contributing to innovative, cross-regional service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist paediatric physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people.
  • Work as a core member of the Weight Management Service for Children and Young People MDT.
  • Lead and support evidence-based physiotherapy practice within the service.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and professional support to physiotherapy staff.
  • Contribute to service planning, evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards.
  • Support health promotion and education initiatives under the PEACEPLUS Healthier Futures Project.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualification in Physiotherapy recognised by CORU.
  • Registration with CORU as a Physiotherapist.
  • Significant post-qualification clinical experience in paediatric physiotherapy.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and service development skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and access to transport (travel required).

Salary, Benefits & Working Hours

  • Salary aligned with HSE Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (Grade 3707) pay scale in accordance with February 2026 consolidated public sector pay scales.
  • Specified Purpose Contract (30 months).

This role is part of the Health Service Executive’s National Services and Schemes division.

Vacancies Available:

  • 1 WTE specified purpose whole-time vacancy (30 months) based in County Louth (base to be determined), with travel to Cavan and Monaghan.
  • 1 WTE specified purpose whole-time vacancy (30 months) across Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim and West Cavan (base to be determined upon appointment).

A panel may be formed from this campaign for future specified purpose vacancies (full-time or part-time) within the Weight Management Service for Children and Young People MDT.
