An exceptional opportunity has arisen for two Consultant Otolaryngologists to join leading acute hospitals in the North West of Ireland. These permanent wholetime positions offer a unique chance to shape and deliver specialist ENT services across Sligo University Hospital and Letterkenny University Hospital. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level otolaryngology (ENT) services across designated hospital sites
- Deliver high-quality patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical governance structures
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of ENT services across the region
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and trainees
- Engage in audit, research, and continuous professional development activities
- Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and clinical standards
- Support service planning and innovation initiatives within the department
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Full registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in the Specialist Division
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Otolaryngology
- Extensive experience in ENT clinical practice at consultant level
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and clinical excellence
- Experience in teaching, training, and mentoring junior staff is desirable
- Eligibility to work in Ireland
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary: Competitive pay
Contract Type: Permanent Wholetime
Working Hours: 25 hours per week at Sligo University Hospital and 12 hours per week at Letterkenny University Hospital
