Job Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for a qualified Electrician within the Engineering Department at St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park. This role plays a vital part in maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant electrical systems across healthcare facilities, supporting essential services for patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations across hospital facilities
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with safety standards and regulations
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently
- Support planned preventative maintenance programmes
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and inspections
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the Engineering Department
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant electrical trade qualification (National Craft Certificate or equivalent)
- Experience in maintenance and installation within a large organisation (healthcare experience desirable)
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work across different HSE locations if required
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary scale: €42,065 – €48,369 (incremental scale)
Employment types available include Permanent Whole-time, Permanent Part-time, Specified Purpose Whole-time, and Specified Purpose Part-time roles.

Location & Employer Information
This position is based at St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park, Chapelizod Road, Dublin 20, within the HSE Dublin North and East Region. The successful candidate may be required to work in other locations across the region as service needs arise.
The role is part of Capital & Estates, supporting the infrastructure and operational efficiency of healthcare services.
