Job Overview
The General Manager Vaccination Services Sligo role offers a significant leadership opportunity within HSE West and North West. This senior position will oversee the strategic and operational delivery of vaccination services across the region, ensuring safe, effective, and responsive public health programmes.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and service delivery expertise. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, public health teams, and regional partners to deliver vaccination services aligned with national policy and regional priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and operational management of regional vaccination services.
- Drive service planning, implementation, and performance monitoring in line with national policy.
- Manage complex stakeholder relationships, including senior management and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with public health standards, governance frameworks, and HSE policies.
- Oversee budgetary planning, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Lead and support multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality vaccination programmes.
- Develop service improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Report on service activity, performance metrics, and risk management frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Significant senior management experience within healthcare or a comparable complex environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and engaging with senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership, governance, and organisational management skills.
- Proven ability to lead service change and deliver operational excellence.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Relevant third-level qualification in management, healthcare, or a related discipline.
