Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown is seeking a General Practitioner in Emergency Medicine to join its Emergency Department on a fixed-term, part-time basis (12 hours per week). This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced GP to contribute to high-quality urgent and emergency care within a major acute teaching hospital in Dublin North.
The post is open to both HSE and non-HSE applicants and forms part of the wider emergency medicine service within the HSE Dublin and North East region.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients presenting to the Emergency Department
• Manage acute and undifferentiated presentations in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to patient flow, safety, and quality improvement initiatives within the ED
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with hospital and HSE standards
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, and service development as required
• Work collaboratively with Emergency Medicine consultants, NCHDs, nursing, and allied health professionals
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Registration on the General Practitioner Division of the Medical Council of Ireland
• Demonstrable post-registration experience in emergency or urgent care settings
• Strong clinical decision-making and risk assessment skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Eligibility to work in Ireland at the time of appointment
• Commitment to patient-centred, evidence-based care
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
• Grade: General Practitioner (Grade Code 152X)
• Contract: Fixed Term, Part-Time
• Hours: 12 hours per week
• Salary: In line with HSE Consolidated Medical & Dental Salary Scales (effective 1 August 2025)

Salary and conditions are governed by Department of Health consolidated pay scales.
