Job Overview
The Communications Officer (Grade V) will play a key role within the Communications and Public Affairs Team for HSE Mid West, supporting both internal and external communications across the region. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful public health messaging and stakeholder engagement across Limerick, Clare, and North Tipperary. The role offers meaningful work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of internal and external communication strategies
- Assist in managing media relations and public information campaigns
- Create and edit content for digital, print, and social media platforms
- Coordinate communication initiatives across multiple stakeholders
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports and briefings
- Support crisis communications and public affairs activities
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned with HSE communication standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field
- Previous experience in a communications or administrative role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with digital communications and social media platforms
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Experience working within a large organisation or public sector (desirable)
Salary, Benefits & Working Hours
Salary scale: €52,235 – €62,485 (including long service increments)
Permanent Wholetime position with standard HSE working hours
