The HSE West and North West Community Healthcare region is seeking applications for the position of Grade V Staff Officer within Primary Care Services in County Mayo. Job Overview

There is currently one permanent whole-time vacancy available for Staff Officer – Grade V within Primary Care Services in County Mayo. A panel may also be created from this recruitment campaign to fill future permanent or specified purpose vacancies, including full-time and part-time positions, across Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon within HSE West and North West Community Services.

This internal campaign is open only to employees of the HSE, TUSLA, Section 38 agencies, or statutory health agencies in accordance with WRC Agreement 161867.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support within a busy Primary Care Services office environment
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and track follow-up actions
  • Support senior managers and key stakeholders through effective communication and organisation
  • Prepare professional reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and correspondence using Microsoft Office tools
  • Manage high-volume workloads while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of tasks
  • Prioritise multiple concurrent projects and administrative duties effectively
  • Assist with data management, reporting, and office coordination activities
  • Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all aspects of the role

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Significant experience supporting and working within a busy office environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience organising meetings, taking notes, and preparing action reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience producing professional documents, reports, and written communications
  • Experience engaging with senior managers and internal or external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining compliance and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills
