Wexford General Hospital is seeking a skilled Grade VII Financial Analyst to join their Finance team in Wexford. This is a permanent wholetime position offering excellent career development opportunities within Ireland’s health service.
About the Role
This Grade VII Financial Analyst position is based at Wexford General Hospital, part of HSE Dublin and South East region. The role involves providing high-level financial analysis, reporting, and strategic support to the hospital’s finance function. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and senior leadership team to ensure effective financial management and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, analysis, and forecasts for senior management and stakeholders
- Conduct detailed variance analysis and provide insights on budget performance against targets
- Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial planning processes
- Analyze complex financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Prepare financial submissions and returns for the HSE and Department of Health as required
- Provide expert financial advice and guidance to department heads and clinical teams
- Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in financial analysis or management accounting
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret complex financial data
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated experience in preparing management reports and financial presentations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working within the health sector or public service
- Knowledge of HSE financial systems and reporting requirements
- Experience in budget preparation and financial forecasting in large organizations
- Project management skills and experience in process improvement initiatives
